In reply to your letter of the 15th Inst. enclosing copy of a communication from Mr. Edward Michell reporting the death of Mr. W. Miles, third Clerk in the Treasury at Hong Kong, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of Lord Grey, that their Lordships do not object to the instruction His Lordship proposes to give in regard to the issue of the Balance of Half Salary which had become due to the late Mr. Miles.
