Letter dated the 8th instant. I am directed to acquaint You, for the information of Earl Grey, that the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury concur in his Lordship's Recommendation that Mr Hillier should be reimbursed the Costs incurred by him in defending the Action therein referred to - I am however to state that it appears to My Lords that as the Proceedings instituted against Mr Hillier were adopted in consequence of Acts done in his Official Capacity, under the orders of the Governor, it would have been the proper Course that his Defence...
