ST. PAUL'S COLLEGE. ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION.
Thero were the usual enthusiastic scenes at St. Paul's College last evening, when the annual distribution of prizes took place in presence of a large gathering, which included HE. the Governor, and the Bishop of Victoria (Dr. Lander), who presided,
Previous to the distribution ceremony an entertaining Concert programme was provided by the students, all the items being very well, received,
Dr.
Lander said he was gratifieda to see such a large gathering present that evening, and called upon the head aster of the College, (the Rev. A.-D. Stewart) to read the annual report,

The small for our use has resulted in much of the amount of playground available popularity of football being transferred to volley ball, with the result that wo have not shown up very well in the tormer, whereas in the Volleyball League we managed to take second place in the Senior Division, and to win the cup in the Junior. This year we have launched out into a new venture, and sent a team to play against the Canton Christinn College and Pui Ying. School at Canton." In both matches our team was defeated, but managed to get their own back in the return matches.
I feel sure that the whole school will bear me out in saying that these successes are entirely due to the zeal and energy of the sports master, Mr. Evan Stewart, who has not spared himself in bis efforts not only to develop athletes but also in encouraging the true sporting spirit which is of more value than win ning a match.
