Sabhears from these & from other circumstances of the case that the state of Mr. Johnston's health is not such as to make it probable that he will permanently be incapacitated on the discharge of Official duties, but that on the contrary, there is reason & expect a change of climate or opportunity of a dothring the best means of restoration to health, with after a moderate interval, be attended with success, Mr. Johnston being now only 36 years old; & their Lordps therefore do not feel they should, under fuescut circumsture; be justified in sanctioning the grant of a pemancut retired allowance to this Gentleman-
My Lords are however pleased to approve for the grant of a temporary allowance being made at the rate of £460 a year, for two years. hope that before the expiration of that period his health may be restored & that his Secretary of State may be able to --
