• As we hastened thereupon to enter the Bay, the English believed us to be a Pirate again.

Fearful of injury to our persons through this apprehension, we disembarked in a small boat & went ashore. The English then seized her hands, they came ashore in pursuit of us. The Guck, a man of the Bay, she happened to be on the spot selling fish, becoming alarmed at the sight, on which the English, supposing him to be a Pirate, made him Prisoner. This occurrence displeased the people of the Bay, & they thereupon attacked the Keang Marchants & their Sailors & beat them.

Tentatively it was said that we who called there together created the disturbance.

Hereupon taking the wood dealers with us, we went on board the English vessel, & expressly explained to the persons in her the state of the case.

At length on the 4th of the month (March 8th) they liberated Wan-log & his Companion & delivered Cass.
