I have the honor to enclose for

Your Lordship's information and for further

disposal, a Petition from Captain Thomas Larkens to the address of the Right Honorable The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, soliciting that a fine of £100 in which sum he was convicted in the Supreme Court of this Colony in June, 1847, for breach of the Post Office Laws, may be refunded to him.

Conceiving I did and still do that the prosecution was instituted and carried on by the Post Office Department
