DEATH OF AN OLD HONG- KONG RESIDENT.

MR. G. J. B. SAYER..

We regres to announce the death of M- G. J. B. Sayer, which occurred yesterday M: morning us the Matilda Bospita!. Bayer had been very ill for the past twɔ months from na internat walady. Recently he received information that one of his song, who had joined one of the Canadian contingents for the Front, had been gassed at Ypres and wes missing." This ori dently caused him much grief and un- doubtedly influenced the course of his ip- ness. Previously he had suffered the loss of two sons in this Colony.

The Inte Mr. Sayer, who was 5 years of ago, had been in Hongkong a quarter of a contury. He was originally in the service of the Naval Yard as officer in charge of admiralty works, but for the just ten yeurs practised as an architect and civil Foreveral engineer ou his own account.
