and favourably replied thereto: from which I apprehend it may possibly have happened, that the Despatch in question has been inadequately passed over.
With this view I have the honor to request that you will lay my case before H.E. the Governor, who in consideration of my having been in the service for nearly 8 years, coupled with the other circumstances detailed in the Despatch referred to, may be pleased to recommend my petition to the favourable consideration of the Right Honorable the Earl Grey.
The solicitation I have now made is one of much importance to me; and I trust I may be excused for trespassing upon His Excellency's time and indulgence.
