FURTHER FINANCIAL PROVISION FOR CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNT.

The following correspondence was laid before the Legislative Council by com mand of His Excellency the Governor, yesterday:

GOVERNMENT HOUSE, Honakoso, 22nd April, 1915. Bin,With reference to your despatch No. 69f the 11th March, 1910, I have tho honour to address you on the subject of making further financial provision for the Construction Account of the Railway,

As you are aware, the amount availablo up to date is £1,350,000, consisting of repayments of the Loan to the Viceroy a Whichang, £1,100,000, and the further loan of £250,000 to be raised under Ordinance No. of 1913.

CASE IN THE SUMMARY COURT.

At the Summary Court yesterday, before Mr. Justice Gampertz, Messrs. A. S. Wat SOTH & Co. suod S. C. Toledo for $19.45.

Mr. M. J. D. Stephens represented the plaintiff Company, and My, Leo d'Almada appeared for the defendant.

Mr. Stopheus said he did not think it would be fair that his clients should e paid only $2 a mouth. In all probability it would never be paid at all.

His lordship told Mr. Stephens that he had his tomedy if he did not.

His lordship made an order on the defendant for payment of $2 a month.

Mr. d'Almada-You will not award costs against the dolondant in view of the fact that the writ was improperly served? There are two reasons why costs should not: Hohe awarded in this ease.

At the present rate of expenditure the funds already sanctioned will be exhausted at latest by the end of Juno next. and [ therefore propose with your sancting to take the necessary steps for appropriating from Funds the sum that is estimated to be required for the remainder of the year. This sum is $486,144 and is arrived at as follows:--
