I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your application from the Superintendent of Police, praying for a free passage to England for the Widow and Child of the late Inspector Smithers of the Police-Force, who was drowned in the Police Beat in the Typhoon of the present Instant, as reported in my Despatch No. 72 of the 15th of this month, as well as soliciting the grant of a pension to herself and child.
