The market value of the cocaine found was £150 and if sold illicitly £6,000. The prizoner had no occupation and said on her way to India that she was going to be married. Six weeks rigorous imprisonment is the alternative if the fine is unpaid. The cocaine has been confiscated. The accused, it is believed, is the first European woman ever convicted in Colombo of smuggling.
