Colonial
Secretary
Sir,
Police Department:
29 Victoria, 242. May, 1848.
In compliance with
your request, (with the sanction
of the Chief Magistrate), I have the honor to furnish you with a
summary of the sick in the Police Department, during
the 12 months ending 30th April, 1848; and, as
the force has been increased since 12th January 1848, and Europeans
substituted for a like number of
natives, I beg to offer an estimate of
the probable amount of sick
for the ensuing year.
I also beg to offer some remarks showing
the existing necessity for the establishment of a Government Hospital...
William Morrison, Esq.
Colonial Surgeon.
