LOST AT SEA.
CHIEF OFFICER OF THE "LOKSANG DROWNED.
On the arrival of the Indo-China Sterm Navigation Company's steamer Loksang on Friday evening, the Captain reported that the Chief Officer, Mr. Walter F. Heckford, had been lost at set while the vessel was making her way to Hongkong from Haiphong and Hothon. The exact circumstances of the disapearance are unknown, but it is presumed that the officer jumped overboard. The sea was practically calm the whole trip
Deceased was a native of Rutland, He was about 41 years of age and joined the Indo China Co. in 1903. He had been employed in many of the Company'e ships.
