With reference to the letter addressed to you by the Colonial Secretary on the 11th Instant respecting the House of the Honorable H. R. Johnston and the reply given to you on this subject by the respective officers in their letter of the 15th instant in which they state, very correctly in my opinion that the House and Grounds in question is not now likely to be required for Military purposes by the Honorable Board of Ordnance, I feel it my duty to suggest for the consideration of the Commanding the Major General Commanding that if this Ground still belongs to Government no Title to it right on any account to be granted to
Captain Staveley,
Asst Military Secretary,
etc.
