POST OFFICE NOTICE. The Parcel Post Service to France is suspended until further notice.
The Parcel Post and Insured Letter system to Brazil is suspended. Notice is given that although every possible precaution is taken to secure the safely of all postal packets whilst in the custody of the Post Office the Postmaster-General cannot give compensation for any loss or can age which may be due to the act of the King's chemies. Until further notice no Letters, Boxes, Parcels for Belgium, Brazil; Crete or Montenegro and no Letters, Boxes or Parcels for Malta can be accepted for insurance.
The Parcel Fost Service to the United Kingdom is in full working order in both directions by the long sea route.
The Parcel Post Service to Egpyt and certain countries men- tioned served by Egypt is resumed for ordinary parcels only:-
Crete, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Algeria, Tunis, Switzerland and (Libya) Tripoli.
The Services to Germany, Austria, Ottoman Empire and Tsinginu are suspended.
The New Year Parcel Mail will be closed at 5 p.m. on Thursday, the 19th inst.
Insured Parcels will only be accepted for the United Kingdom. The ENGLISH MAIL from Europe is due to arrive here to-day,
