POST OFFICE NOTICE. SHIPS LETTER BOXES,

its Branch Offices. 1-It is hereby notified that during the continuance of the War all outgoing correspondence

must be posted at the General Post Offos or at any u 2.-Ships' Officers are strictly forbidden to receive on board their ecele any correspondence

from the Pablio.

3-Shipmaters are not allowed to place or expose on board their vessels latter boxes for the Faroea of collecting correspondence; all such boxes found exposed on tourð far vastels will be removed and returned to the General Post Office,

Shipping Companies must not receive from the Publio for inclusion in their ships Papers any but bona fide Consigners' letters which should be left cpen for inspection whom required;

6-Shipping Companies should state in their nofications to the Post Office the exact bour of departure of their vestels in order that the public may have every facility for pesting attle General Post Office.

6-Shipping Companies and Ships' Officers must send to the Post Office ALL correspondence Except bona de Consignees letters pcated in the Ships; Letter Boxes or received by Ship Cfficers at the ports from which they tailed, or anywhere en route to Hongkong. 7.-The above regulations will not affect the licensed Private Letter Boxes carried between Hor ghong and Centen by the vessels Lelonging to or managed by the Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboat Co.

War risks are not covered by Postal Registration or Insurance. Correspondence (including parcels) is being despatched as opportunity offers; but all Services are irregular and uncertain and all correspor dence is liable to delay.

The Parcel Post Service to France is suspended until further notice..

The Parcel Post and Insured Lettersystem, to Brazil is suspended. Notice is given that although every possible precaution is taken to secure the safety of all postal packets whilst in the custody of the Post Office the Postmaster-General cannot give compensation for any loss or damage which may be due to the act of the King's enemies. Until further notice no Letters, Boxes, Parcels for Belgium, Brazil, Crete or Montenegro and no Letters, Boxes or Parcels for Malta can be accepted for insurance.

The Parcel Post Service to the United Kingdom is in full working order in both directions by the long sea route.

The Parcel Post Service to Egpyt and certain countries men- tioned, served by Egypt is resumed for ordinary parcels only:-

Crete, Cyplus, Greece. Syria, Turkey, Italy, Algeria, Tunis, Switzerland and (Lyhiya) Tripoli.

The Service to Tsingtan is suspended.

A lato Mail for Swattw, Aucy and Foochow will in future be ciceed for al Douglas Steamers 20 minutes before each steamer nils, ordinary corrependence will to received after the regular mail has elcsed at the side west entrance to the G.P.D. in the lane off Des Your Road.

The Maus FROM LONDON (Via Siberia) from 12th to 16th ult, ure due to arrive bere to-day.

The ACERICAS MAIL ex China. is scheduled to arrive here on Monday, the 19th inst.. The AMERICAN MAIL og "Manchuria is scheduled to arrive here on Thursday, the 22nd inst.
