RHEUMATISM, LUMBAGO & SCIATICA.

THE HONGKONG DAILY PRESS, SATURDAY OCTOBER, 17TH, 1914.

Rheumatismo, Lumbago and Sciatica are three of the most common and most painful complaints and practically arise from the same cause and the names only distinguish the location of the disease. If the arms and legs are affected it is called Rheumatism; if in the Loios, Lumbago; and in the hip. Sciatica. The attacks are generally brought on by chills when the body is overheated, or by exposure to damp or cold draughts, which act, not upon the bones or muscles but upon the Uric Acid in the Blood,. which is the cause of the disease. The failure of the Liver and Kidneys to filter and absorb this Acid- leads to an accumulation in the systems, tends to clog the circulation, and harden the tissues forming the blood vessels. Thus every movement of the affected parts causes you intense agony. The pains are affected more or less by cold or heat. A damp day will double you up, or the warmth of the bed will intensify the pain. Rheumatism is generally regarded as one of the most difficult ailments to cure, and invariably medicines are tried simply with the hope of temporary relief. Dr. MORSE'S INDIAN ROOT PILLS have been wonderfully successful A sudden tinge of pain.

not merely affording a cessation of the pain, but by driving the poison out of the blood and restoring the joints to their original. suppleness. They get at the cause as no other remedy does. They get at the foundation of the complaint which is the blood and a trial will abundantly prove the wonderful efficacy of this remedy,

They are a perfect tond Purifier and a Positiva and Dermacot

WASHINGTON, August 31et.

6.00 Both Germany and Great Britain have 6.00 accepted the first of two alternative 5.00 proposals.suggested by the United States 5.00 in a recent Note to the belligerent Powers 5.00 of Europe regarding censorship of wire- 5.00 less communication with Europe.

5.00 France and Russia are expected to 5.00 follow Great Britain, while. Austria is 5.00 understood to be in harmony with 5.00 Germany's views, and a prompt adjust- 5.00ment is now believed to be in night 5.00 The American Government's proposals 5.00 | were as follows:

5.00 First-The wireless stations at Tucker- 5.00 ton, N. J., and Sayville, L., I., should be 5.00 opened to all belligerents, their embassies 5.00 in the United States being permitted to 5.00 send code message subject to the supervi 5.00sion of an American navals officer, with 6.00 whom a copy of the respective codes would 5.00 be deposited.

3.00 Second-Germany and Austria should 8.00 be permitted to send their code messages 3.00 over British and French cables, but sub- 3.00 jest to censorship by American officials 3.00 to determine whether or not the messages 2.00 were distinctly neutral.

2.00 Both Germany and Great Britain 5.00 rejected the second suggestion as impracti- 1,000.00 cable, but assented to the first. Germany's 500.00 only desire, it is understood, is that the 100.00 wireless be supervised with equal restric- 2,000,00❘tion on all belligerents. Great Britain, 500.00] however, expressed the view that all 50.00 wireless stations should be manned by 50.00 neutrals, and not the nationals of 50.00 belligerents.

50.00 In this connection the United States 250.00 inquired of Germany as to the connection 250.00 of the Government with the companies 75.00 operating the wireless stations at Sayville, 25.00 L.I., and Tuckerton, N. J. Germany 50.00 replied emphatically that the Government 100.00 had no connection whatever with the 50.00 private companies, and did not use the 150.00 stations to communicate with its ships at 500.00 sea.

500.00 German feiala also contended that, as 10.00 neither station had been constructed by 200,00 the German Government and both were 50.00 open to public business, they could not be 60.00 regarded as within the same category as 100.00 these prohibited by The Hagne Conven- 100.00 tion, if erected by the belligerent govern- 60.00 meet on neutral territory for purely 50.00 military purposes and not open to the 50.00 public.
