ULOSING QUOTATIONS.
1. It is hereby notified (bat during the continuance of the War all outgoing correspondence
must be posted at the General Test Office or at any of its Branch Offloor. 2.-Ships' Officers are strictly forbidden to reosivo on board their verrois any correspondence
from the Public,
3.-Shipmasters are not allowed to place or expose on board their vessels letter boxes for the purpose of collecting errespondence, all such tores found exposed on board their Vessels will be removed and returned to the General Post Office, 4-Shipping Companies must not receive from the Fublie for inclusion in their ships' Papore **bena fdr Consigners' letters which should be left open for inspection when Lby Dug required. 5-Shipping Cmpanies should state in their notifications to the Post Office the exsot hour of departure of their vesels in order that the public may have every facility for posting at the General Poet.co.
6-Shipping Companies and Ships Officers must send to the Post Office ALL correspondence except bona fide Consigntes letters posted in the Ships Letter Boxes or received by Ship Cfier rs at the perte from which they failed, or anywhere en rout to Hongkong. 7. The above regulations will not affect the licensed Private Leiter Boxes curried between Borgkerard Cinion by the vessels belonging to or managed by the Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboat Co.
War risks are not covered by Postal Registration or Insurance. Correspondence (including parcels) is being despatched as opportunity offers; but all Services are irregular and uncertain and all correspox dence is liable to delay.
The Parcel Post Service to Franco is suspended until further notico.
The Parcel Post and Insured Letter system t› Brazil is suspended. Notice is given that although every possible precaution is taken to secure the safety of all postal packets whilst in the custody of the Post Office the Postmaster-General cannot give compensation for any loss or damage which may be due to the act of the King's enemies. Until further notice no Letters, Boxes, Parcels for Belgium, Brazil, Crete or Montenegro and no Letters, Boxes or Parcels for Malia can be accepted for insurance.
The Farcel Post Service to Egypt and countries beyond served by Egypt in Southern Europe is for the present suspended.
Tho Service to Tsingtan is suspended.
A late Mail for Swalow, Amoy and Foochow will in fature be closed for all Douglas Steamers 20 minuts before each steamer sails, ordinary correspondence will be received after the regular mail has closed at the side west entrance to the G.R.O. in the lane off Des Youx Road.
The ENGLISH MAIL is due to arrive here today. As the Mail is ursorted the delivery will be delayed for 2 hours.
The AERICAN MATL or China, is scheduled to arrive here on Monday, the 19th inst,
