POST OFFICE" NOTICE.
SHIPS LETTER BOXES,
1.It is hereby notifed that during the continuance of the War all outgoing correspondence
must be ported at the General Post Office or at any of its Branch Offees. 2-Ships' Officers are strictly forbidden to receive on heard their vessels any correspondence
from the Public,
3.- Shipsters are not allowed to place or expers on board their ressola lotter boxes for the parcs of eclecting cornerpencerre: zal such boxes found exposed on board their weare's will be - move? and retrrned in Le Gererat Post Office, 4-Shipping Companies must not receive from the Publio for inclusion in their ships Papers, DDF int Lone fide Consignees' letters which should be left cpen for inspection when required. 5-Shipping Companies should state in their notifications to the Post Office the ornot hoar of departure of their resels in order that the public may have every facility for posting at the General Post Office.
6-Shipping Companies and Ships' Officers must send to the Post Office ALL correspondence except bona fide Consignees letters posted in the Ships Letter Foxes or receired by Ship Cicers at the porir from which they railed, or anywhere on route to Hongkong. 7.-The above regulations will not affect the licensed Private Lotter Bozou earried between Fergkong and Cinica by the vessels belonging to er managed by the Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboat Co.
War risks are not covered by Postal Registration or Insurance.
Until further notice the Names of the Vessels by which Mails are forwarded will not be advertised in the Mail Notices.
Correspondence (including parcels) is being despatched as oppertunity offers; but all Services are irregular and uncertain and ail correspondence is liable to delay.
The Parcel Post Service to France is suspended until further notico.
The Pared Post Bervice to Egypt and countries beyond served by Egypt in Southern Europe is for the present suspended,"

A. Izte Mail for Swatow, Amoy and Fecchow will in future be closed for all Douglas Steamers 10 winutes before eneli stremer saile, ordinary correspondence will be received after the reguler mail kas closed at the side west entrouco to the G.P.0, in the lane off Des Voeux Road.
The Nomy, with the MAIS FRO LONDON (via Eiberia) of Saturday and Monday, the 5th and 7th ult, is due to arrive here to-day.
