of their Farm,

31st July, 1848.

It was taken originally by
Mr. Burn for the purpose of creating
thereon a
private dwelling, but
after incurring considerable expense,
he was
compelled in consequence of ill health to leave the Colony, and has continued for
the space of
three
years to pay
the rent for a place utterly valueless,
and begs permission
to abandon
it, and we trust His Excellency,
the Honorable
Major
Caine,
Colonial Secretary,
Hongkong.
