Opinion.

Shewed me the original letter of J. Turner, Hk., bearing date the 10th September 1847, having reference to the lots of Ground belonging to Mr. Alexander McCulloch.

It was forwarded to me a short time after its date, and my opinion was written on the back of it, and returned either to the Colonial Secretary or to the Crown Solicitor, according to my usual custom when acting as Attorney General. My impression is that it was sent to the Crown Solicitor. I am able to certify that I recommended the resumption of Mr. McCulloch's lots by Government, and the immediate repair of the Bungalow — either to be let as a dwelling house or to be used as a Police Station.
