We have again been applied to by the Colonial Treasurer for a year's rent upon Lots 147 & 163, belonging to Mr Alexander Matheson.
We would apologize for not at once paying the Treasurer's demand, but are induced to defer it while requesting your perusal of the enclosed copy of a letter which we had the honor to address to you on the 27th September 1847 upon the subject.
At the expiration of the Lease is requested to be granted to Mr Joseph Jardine, with the exception of that portion thereof known as Helen's Bank, for which Inland Lot No.87 is reserved.
