Neuralgia,

Nervous Breakdown-

NURSE HALL, c/o Mrs. Bassett, Commercial Place, Landport, Portsmouth, Eng., writes:-"I was suffering from nervous breakdown with Internal Neuralgia, when I began a course of Phosferine. After having taken it for three or four months, I felt better than I had done for two years previously, and consider it the best tonic I have ever tried. As a remedy for all nervous disorders I think there is nothing to equal Phosferine, especially as I was given up by more than one doctor previous to taking Phosferine, and can now say I am perfectly well and strong, and have taken nothing else."

No other medicine has received such absolute proof of its extraordinary propenies in restoring Shattered Constitutions, and in giving back to the. prematurely aged New Life and Energy.

THE WAYS OF SOCIETY.

AN AMUSING BOOK FOR THE SOCIAL ASPIRANT.

"}

The following article in a London. evening newspaper On The Ways of Society by Mrs. Danvers Delano (T. Werner Laurie, Lad.), perhaps does not do full justice to a useful boos of modern etiquette, but it is at least amusing:-

Do you know what a man's "ditton"! are?

They are explained in The Ways of Booiety, the latest peep-behind-the-scenes of a world which cannot be entered without a knowledge of its ways- poep, by the way, that in this volume has its distinctly comic side.

A man can WeAr a suit of dittos in London other words, müfti-without. exciting comment.

The book is equally unusing on things everybody knows, things not many people know, and things everybody ought to know. The last are the funniest :

In giving a ball never think of nor grudge the money it may cost, and if you are giving it at an hotel allow the young men to go is to supper over and over again, and don't, like someone the other day, exelaini, You have alrendy cost me six guineas.

They must remember that finger-glasses are not made to drink out of; in fact, a man was once positively seen to use his finger-bowl for rinsing his month: at vi Belgravian dinner.

How such a man got in to dinner, a explained by our increasing democracy:

We respect worth, we, so to speak, pat the rising office-hoys, potboys, and errand Logs of our early days on the back, and strive to remain on speaking terme with them for the rest of their natural lives, though they leave us far behind."

It hot only for those office-boys that the book is written; it is for all who cannot make the ways of society a study at first-hand, but whose business or takes then into pleasure occasionally society.

But it is not always necessary to use the ways of society, particularly if you. are not actually in the movement. There is such thing as discretion.

USEFUL HINTA.

The Dady Mail Servant Bureau would not, I am sure, agree with the form of the following letter:

To Amelia Blake,

Your character is satisfactory, and you can enter my service on Thursday, the 10th. etc., etc.

There are some useful hints on tipping servants:

Ladies in a general way are not expected. A married -to tip the men servants.

woman can do so if she chooses, but it is best for girls not to attempt to tip the wen. The batter expects mathing from & young lady visitor.... The housemaid; who waits upon a lady is really the only "Of course one he is expected to tip.. when men servants are not kept, then the caso is altered, and the jintlour-maid expects something.

Out- dour servants, such as the coachman or chauffeur, shonld at all times be tipped when they conver guests to and from the station, A small tip is quite suficient. If, however, a great deal of driving or motering has been indulged in during the visit, then the tip should be augmented.

DOGE NOT WELCOME.

There is a warning for the country house visitor over-burdened with cheek. The ways of society do not allow him to request that bis car be provisioned on leaving, even if he is en route for the country. Sonie people have been known to go so far as to send a list to. the cook of what they want for two days.

Dogs, it is pointed out, are not welcome guests. One little uninvited dog deve- loped a passion for spangles and-used to

THE BLOOD is the LIFE of the FLESH

Dr. Morg's Indian Root Pills-What they are and Their Four Principal Ingredients. what they do.

It is an established fact that all diseases spring from one source, namely: Impurity of the Blood. Therefore our strength, health, and life depend upon the vital fluid. When the various passages become clogged, and do not act in perfect harmony with the different functions of the body, the blood loses its action, becomes thick, corrupted, and diseased, thus causing pains, sickness, and distress of every name; our strength is exhausted; and if Nature is not assisted in throwing off the stagnant humours, the blood will become choked and cease to act, and thus our light of life will be extinguished. How important, then, that we should keep the various passages of the body free and open, and if assistance is necessary to have at hand that invaluable remedy, Dr. MORSE'S INDIAN ROOT PILLS, manufactured from plants and roots which grow around the mountain cliffs in Nature's garden, for the health and recovery of diseased man.

One of the roots from which these Pills are made is a SUDORIFIC, which opens the pores of the skin, and assists Nature in throwing out the finer parts of the corruption within.

The second is a plant which is an EXPECTORANT that opens and unclogs the passage. to the lungs, and thus in a soothing manner performs its duty by throwing off the phlegm and other humours from the lungs by copious spitting.

The third is a DIURETIC, which gives ease and double strength to the Kidneys; thus encouraged, they draw large amounts of impurity from the blood, which is thrown out bountifully by the urinary or water passages, and which could not have been discharged in any other way.

The fourth is a CATHARTIC, and accompanies the other properties of the Pills while engaged in purifying the blood, and the coarser particles of impurity which cannot pass by the other outlets are thus taken up and conveyed off in large quantities by the bowels.

From the foregoing it is shown that Dr. Morse's Indian Root Pills not only enter the stomach, but become united with the blood, for they find the way to every part, and completely root out and cleanse the system from all impurity, and the life of the body, which is the blood becomes perfectly healthy; consequently all sickness and pain are driven from the system, for they cannot remain when the body becomes pure and clean.

DR. MORSE'S INDIAN ROOT PILLS are an efficient, reliable, and safe remede placed on the market at a price, within the reach of all. The Pills being sugar-coated, are pleasant to take, and retain their bill medicinal properties. They are packed in amber-coloured bottles-not in cheap wooden or pasteboard boxes-and are thus always fresh and clean; impervious to moisture, unaffected by climatic conditions, and do not deteriorate by keeping as all liquid medicines do.
