The local market during the week has remained quiet but firm, with a good inquiry for all investment securities. The market for Oils in London has weakened since our last report, which to a very large extent is attributable to the political crisis at Home, London sccording to our latest advices doing a have again been a fluctuating market, and now close with sellers at Tis. 48
Rubbers remain a quiet market both here and in London, and the Tin" market remains unchanged. Hard Para Rubber has a quotation of 2/112 per b., and Plantation Sheet of 2/1 per lb. The Bank of England rate remains unchanged, viz., a per cent, and the open market is advised as being 2. Bar silver closes at 24 15/16 for ready, and 25d. for forward. Sterling T.T. at 1/93, Shanghai T.T. at 74, and Singapore T.T. at 77 Consola are now quoted 752.

We reproduced on Thursday from a Southern contemporary a graph stating that Sir George Alexander short pars- had accepted an original comedy in four acts by Capt. Kendall, the skipper of the ill-fated Empress of Ireland, entitled "Dum-dum."
