(1) That the Directors of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation be and they are hereby requested and authorised by and on behalf of the. shareholders of the Company to take the steps necessary to apply for the introduction of an Ordinance into the Legislative Council of the Colony of Hongkong supplemental To Tus HONGKONG AND SHANGHAI BANK ORDINANCE 1800, and the enactment of the same by the Governor of Hongkong with the advice and consent of the Legisla- tive Council thereof to effect the amendment of Section 20 of THE HONGKONG AND BHANGRAI BANK ORDINANCE 1866, hereafter set out with such modifications (if any) as they may think fit and to accept such Ordinance if and when enacted.
The following is the amendment above referred to :-The deletion from Section 20 of the said Ordinance of the words, To take and accept any lands, houses, or other real or personal property in satisfaction, liquidation, or payment of "any debt absolutely and bona fide pre "viously due and owing to the Company,
and also to take any Mortgage or other "lien or charge on real or personal pro- "perty as a security for any monies

actually and bond fide previously due to the Company or for which any person "may have rendered himself liable to the "Company, and to hold such lands, houses "and other real and personal property "respectively for such reasonable time as "may be necessary for selling and dis- "posing of and converting the same into

and the substitution therefor of the following words: To take, accept, enforce, release, realise or deal have left the Godowns, and all goods remaining with any security now held or which undelivered after the 30th-inst will be subject-may hereafter be held by the Company, to rent.
Optional Cargo will be forwarded on unless fatimation is received from the Consignees before Noor. To-bar requesting it to be lauded here.
