The respectful Memorial of the undersigned, John Younghusband, William Emeny, Robert Sherard Wentworth Brimelow,

That we have perused the Petition of Lam Apat and Leang Ashin annexed. That we formerly formed the Jury before whom the said Lam Apat and Leang Akin were tried on the twenty-fourth day of January last — that the circumstances set forth in the said annexed Petition we believe to be true; and we humbly submit to Your Excellency that from the notoriously bad character of the said Foo Apo, as has been shown: from the fact of his having been convicted and sentenced on a charge of feloniously extorting money by threats, and upon whose testimony alone the said Lam Apat and Leang Ashin were convicted, and which fact was unknown to us at the time of giving (or assuredly being our verdict against them we should have acquitted them, there being no other evidence beyond that of the said Foo Apo against them), that Your Excellency will be pleased to take their case into your merciful consideration, reverse their sentences, and release the said Lam Apat and Leang Achin from
