I have every reason to be satisfied with the results obtained."
THE VIEWS OF TWENTY-THQUBAND 'DOCrous,
This is only one of more than twenty thousand written statements by physi cians. Many of them have extolled the value of Sapatogen in the leading medical journala of the world. Numbera of famous men and women who have derived great benefit from Sanatogen have echoed their statements.
Sir Gilbert Parker, the distinguished M.P. and Novelist, writes:
-have-used-Sanatogen with extra ordinary benefit. It is to my mind truc tonic food, feeding the nerves, increasing the energy and giving fresh vigour to the overworked body and mind. It has rendered splendid service to my health and physical well-being.
While this must convince all English residonta in China who know Sir Gilbert Parker's great reputation, the following statements by two of His Majesty's Judges who live in India, where the climatic conditions are more onerous that here, must carry perfect conviction.
STATEMENTS OF HIS MAJESTY'S DOES. The Hon, Mr. Justice Robertson, Judge of the Chief Court, Lahore, writes: "My experience with Sanstogen has been very favourable I took it for some weeks during the most trying season of the year, June, July, August — in Lahore, in the Punjab Plaine and found it a great strengthener."
Even stronger is the Hon. Mr. Justics Kensington's experience regarding Bantogen's tonic and revivifying powers and its digestive value. The Hon. Mrs Kensington writes: "I have much pleasure in stating that I have tried Sanatogen in the great heat of Lahore, where it is specially trying, and am absolutely satisfied with it.
"Mr. Kensington has also taken it, and we have both found it a wonderful reviver and tonic It is also the beat cure for digestive troubles that I have come across, and I do not know how I should have stood the heat without it."
Sapatogen Overcomes nervous and physical lassitude, depleted energy, and the other mental and physical conditions due to the season, and gives a sensation of well-being and vitality which is as refreshing as it is stimulating,
If you wish to know more about Sanatogen, write, mentioning this paper, to A. WULFING & Co., 6, Kiuklang Road, Shanghai, who will be pleased to forward you a valuable booklet entitled "The Art of Living," gratis and post free:
Sanatogen can he obtained of all Chemists, in bottles of two sizes.

The ATTORNEY-GENERAL-I do not think!: it is necessary to make it any more than 350. It is rather a high penalty which the pleasure of shooting a bird of that kind is likely to inflict upon a sportsman. Hi EXCELLENCY-I think $50 is really enough.
op.
There is also a movement throughout the Empire for the protection of such birds against wanton destruction either for the sake of their plumage or for any other reason, and by passing this Bill the Colony will be joining in that ovement The scheme of the Bill is to divide wild birds into three classes. Some wild birds may be taken and shot at any time by any person who holds a licence under the Ordinance, and these birds are defined in the Bill as snipe, woodcock, geese and swan, and it is proposed, Sir, to add magpies to that list. The second class consists of birds which may be shot ander licence, but only in the non-breed-magistrate,
those are such birds að ing season: pheasants, partridges and so on. The third class consists of all other wild birds, and they are protected throughout the your, and may not be taken or shot at any time. The Bill also protects the nests and eggs of wild birds throughout the year, and edible birds during the breeding SEBSOD, It incorporates most of the provisione of the present Wild Birds and Game Preservation Ordinance, and the only important change made in those provisions is the alteration of the close season which is now fixed by the Bill to extend from the 1st February to the 15th October. Again, according to informa- Lion at the disposal of the Government, it was found that the close season was not sufficiently long to cover the breeding season for all the birds which it was desired to protect.
The COLONIAL SECRETARY seconded, and the Bill was read a second time.
Council then went into Committed to consider the Bill clause by clause,

Hon. Mr. LANDALE said--Under Section 3 of Clause 4, what is the position of the owner of a cold storage?
The ATTORNEY-GENERAL.This only makea it an offence to possess birds taken in the Colony, and not imported birds.
Hon. Mr. HEWETT-You might shoot some wild duck in Hongkong, put them in cold storage, and-sell them out of ELABOR
The ATTORNEY-GENERAL The section applies to any birds taken in the Colony after the commencement of the Ordinance, and not to birds imported from outaide.
Hos. Mr. LANDALE In Clause 13, where some exemptions are made, reference to cold storage is omitted. I think it is a pity this Ordinance should have no reference to cold storage. It might be very difficult for a cold storage company to prove where its birds came from.
The ATTORNEY CENTRAL Section 4 applies to birds which it is not permissible to kill at all, therefore there would not be any cold storage. Section 6 refers to birds which may be shot, except in the close season.

The DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS-No. The CHAIRMAN-I visited the Station with the C.S.P. nearly two years ago to see what was required, and what was then asked for was an extension of the back promises of the police station to give more room to provide for the Indian police constables, a little more for the Chinese, and to set free the front part of the Station for the European police.
