Since the Far Eastern Olympiad held at Manila about lifteen months ago a great filip seoma to have been given to athletics in China, especially in school circles, and China now has its National Athletic Association as well as many rec. tional associations. The Government has manifested its interest in the movament by generously assigning the grounds of the Temple of Heaven for the mac of the Association, and we notice that the names of practically all the Ministers in Peking figure in the list of honorary officers of the Association. The value of athletics in the scheme of education is clearly being recognised in China as a strong force in the moral, social, physical and intellectual development of the student.
