Money is getting more plentiful from day to day, the Bank of England and the Reichsbank reduced their rates simultaneously by per cont, last week, the one to 4 per cent,, the other to 4 per cent, and the government banks in other countries followed suit. It has so far, however, failed to give any fresh impetus to business, which continues dull, and although there has been a little more pro- fessional trading on the stock exchanges the outside public remains seated on the fonce awaiting further developments in the political situation in the Near East and in other matters nearer home.
