Mahratta Chief and Snowdrop raced for quite a long while in ding-dong fashion, with Sunlight keeping an aver age of about a length behind them, and Royal Rose fourth. The latter displaced Sunlight and ran to within half a length of the leaders into the village, and then' coming up strongly drew level with the leaders. Royal Rose darted away and won by à length from Sunlight. with Snowdrop a good distaner behind as third.
