We have recently had it reported in a telegram from Peking that the PRESIDENT has decided that all the foreign claims for indemnity for damage incurred in the Revolution in China in 1911-12 must bo brought within the sum of £2,000,000, which is the amount set aside out of the Quintuple Loan to meet these losses. In our issue of yesterday we published particulars of the claims sent in by the various Powers, showing a total of $23,547,000, but addition to this Japan has put in a later claim for about $11,000,000, which is fifty per cent of the amount available out of the Quintuple Loan as compensation for all foreign losses.
