The Fourth meditary cellarg af share- | holders of the King Yik Cotton Spinning [nd Weaving' ('s, Edd., was held last week at the fees of the Generaj Murmagers. Mestra, Fordine, Matlinson 82 Co., Ltd. at Shanghai. Mr. 1. E. Anton' presided and 'was supported by Mr. C W. Wrightson and Mr. Char Lai-fong fof the Consulting Committee). - there. hejug also present! Messrs. G. 31, Polts. J. F. Donin, R. S. Pierey, Pan Ching- pon, TP.Vorster, E. C. Émmet, F. J. Barrett J. A. Sridka, A, K. Craddock, E. B. Hornell, H. C. Elliots, and Jas Kerfoot (Secretory);
The police convening, the meeting and the Amiitor's Report having heen read, the Chairman achbreized the meeting, as follows:
Gentlemen: The Report and Accounts having hemm in your hands for some time, I propose with your permission to take them as rad. Sine our fast Annual Meeting, we have, as you know, caperi: enced troublesome times in Clans, but nevertheless the year's working shows, what impe you may cônsider, a satisfac tory result.
The Prout for the year is Tls, 189,363.08 against s 176,900.05 for the previous 1 months; and, with the sum of Tis. 5,06% brought forward, there is avail alde for appropriation T. 105,309.10. As you will have seen by the Report, is is proposed to pay a dividend of Tis. 1.50 per share, which is the same as last year. Further, it is proposed to write Tis. 10,000 off Buildings and Th. 25,000 of Plant and Machinery. The necessity for making adequate provision for deprecies tion is no doubt realized by vou all and therefore ved nog elaborate the point. it is also recommended that Tls, 39,500 be placed to Equalization of Dividend Account, which would then stand at Tis. 75,000. You must. 1 link appreciate the advisability of building up our Reserves as much as possible, as the stronger our financial position, the better will we be able to meet the present or futuro increased competition and to tide over tines of bad trade. The bonus to the Staff amounted to Ts., 1,400 last year, but this year fls. 1,500 is recommended in order that the Native Staff may participate,
