I have the honor to forward

Requisition for clothing and other articles

required for the use of the Police. Free of the Colony for the Year 1849, and part of 1850, and trust that your Lordship will approve of the same, and be pleased to give the necessary directions for its early transmission to Hong Kong.

In consequence of the Police clothing for 1848 not having yet arrived, and which was applied for by my predecessor in Despatch No. 1291 of the 20th August, 1847 (receipt of which was acknowledged in your Lordship's Despatch No. 125 of 18th November 1847) I have
