All the walls were hidden with artistically-arranged flage and foliage, from which myriads of skilfully hidden electric lights sent forth a warm amber glow. The two ball-rooms and the retiring rooms were also one maze of colour--the cool blue and white of St. Andrew being naturally predominant- Huge and were generously illuminated.

The retiring room was also artistically treated in blue and white; indeed, so generously had the whole building been treated with St. Andrew flags that several strange pennants had to be intredaced in a least noticeable posi- tion:
