obvious that he could not arrive in the Colony on the 1st of June, which was six months from the date of his suspension; and I have therefore inferred that it was not Your Lordship's intention to deprive him of so large a portion of his salary in consequence of his having exceeded the stipulated period, by only 16 days.
Should I however have misapprehended Your Lordship's intentions, then I beg that I may be furnished with specific instructions as to the means that I am to pursue in recovering the amount that will have been overpaid in England as well as during the time that must elapse before I can receive a reply to this reference.
