A Celebrated Violiniste

Nervous Fatigue, Languor-

The powry to excel, the confidence which ensures her brilliant successes, says the talented violinist, Miss Sybil Keymer, is entirely due to her abundance of vigorous nerve force created by Phosferine. How greatly the numerous distinctions and triumphant career of this accomplished musician are promoted by the brain cuergy and physical stamina developed by Phosferine, is evident from Miss Keymer's admission that the tonic "enabled me to do myself justice.” This power to excel, this ability to make herfect me of her skill, depends upon the marvellous control and steadiness - of the muscle nerves Phosferine bas given her, and to which she owes the catrancing tone and quality of her musical renditions. Naturally, this energising effect of Phosfering was accompanied by the disappearance of the headaches, listlessness, and fatigue, which were the bane of her public appearances, and it is this happy outcome which impels Miss Keymer. to testify to the execptional advantages to be derived from Phosforine.

Promptly Remedied.

Miss Sybil Koymar," Riversmere," Albany Rd., Leighton Buzzard, Eng., writes: "I think I should inform you that I have recently derived very great benefit from the use of Phosferine. In the course of my profession. I have to travel a good deal in getting to my various concerts, and I find that since using Phosferine I am never troubled with the headaches and listlessness which follow a long railway journey, particularly during hot weather. This is of very great importance to me, as frequently only a very little dine clapses between reaching my destination and the com- mencement of a concert, and it is such a relief to feel fresh and ready for playing in public undisturbed by the fatigues of long travelling. It is because I feel that Phosferine enables me to do myself justice as a violinist, preventing any of the custeadiness of the muscle nerves, which is so harmful to tone and quality, that I confidently commend the tonic at every opportunity."July 1, 1913.

JEASON'S FUPS.

Muffs are to be composed of material mixed with fur, and are very large. One is in cardinal veivet hordered with dark brown-fur; another in gold and blue broendo cuced with white fox and a third in scarlet and gold broché, with a border of grey fox. Clvet caf, the striped black and white fur, so much seen | last winter. is still in favour, chiefly for stole and muff. Skunk will have a great season owing to the very high orice of sable in anticipation of the three years during which an onlinego is placed upon supplies. Red fox is the far of the Trament, owing to the craze for this and kindred tints. Seal corey is an ex pensive substitute for real seal. Stoles Faro as wide as caer, surromiling the neck with a superfinous quantity of fur Skunk and civel-ent are combined in long, wide scarf to be worn in the new way the middle of it crossing the chest in front, the rest draws over the shoulders and again crossing at the back, This mode, which leaves the lungs unprotected at the back, is said to be in high favour. Perhaps is no worse than the general way of wearing the stole, which leares the chest exposed. There is also a third way, the far cross- ing on the left shoulder, the ends hanging down back and front and, one of the trailing foot or so upon the ground. Moleskin is still fashionable, find "news" for "the little male. Ladyed lear pleases those who dress in the can of the mode. The anion of pure white fox with the same fur dyed black is effectives A leopard-skim stote is lined with beaver and the muff is made of the two furs combined. The fur goals are made with loug, full sleeves finished with Lurn hrek cuffs:

WATH EVENING DRESS

fur has always been more or less in fashion with evening dress, but this winter promises to see a furore for it. It has been worn during the summer in the very hottest weather, so naturally it will be seen more, fully exploited than ever during the cold weather, Chiffon, ninca, embroidered net and thin silky will have bands of white or grey fur for trimmings, sin.ilar fur being used for coloured chiffons as well as white. Extra ordinary colour effects may be looked for, some of them very crude, others poetzo and picturesque. A full tunic of black lace is boritered with white fox and wors over a black velvet gown made with a short, pointed train. Shadow-lace is much use for the full tunics that make such a pleasant contrast with the tra tight skirts In lemon coloring one of these lace tunics is worn over white charmeuse and forms bodice and sleeves as well. An enermons butterfly bow in front is also of the lace and the belt is white charmeuse like the gown, a panier frock is in white soft satin, the colour champagne. The belt is meadow, green velvet Three Ince flounces put on Father full trim the top of a dark green panne skirt and the bodice is composed of gold tall and lace to match.

OF SANDALS.

The world had forgotten how pretty sandals can be when seen on well-shaped limbs over tightly drawn stockings. At dances this winter every opportunity will be afforded of observing them. Skirts will be short and curved away, and, besides, many of them will be slit to the knee, on one side, if not on both The more adventurous dancers may follow the fashion set in Paris of wearing sandals without any Atockings, but it is unlikely that this will become general, though indeed one never can tell. Even the best-made shoes would become irksenio without stockings after the first weltz or two. Solid stitching has to go to the making of shoes and from lest tho stockings make a certain protection. A vain young man who cut away the soles of his socks in older to be able to wear very small shoes found this out to his cost. Ho was crippled for days after a far from onjyable evening's dancing, The newest evening sandals are made uf very soft kid in white or pale colours and in the golf ting for which there is such a facer just now. They are carried above the calf of the lex, and tied with ribbon in this tone of the gown or its trimmings-X. and Z. in the Globe.

THE JAPANESE SPINNING COMPANIES.

The Young Chrow ele, says --With re ferencs to the Lnticipated rates of dividend of spinning companies, the half yearly accounts of which are to be closed at the end of this month, the Oszka „Vainichi notes that those companies which have sold their products on forward con tracts spreading over next year will earn profits cqual to those for the preceding period. The stock of raw cultum used in the present period was purchased from America in October and November Int year at from Yao to Y40, and with this cotton was mixed Tndian cotton, which was also purchased at prices coniparati rely low. The companies have sold yaris on forward contract at about F145, and a profit of betweg 17 and 310 per bale of yarn can be made, the same as for the preceding period. As these, companies intend to provide out of present profits against a decreased profit anticipated for the next period, an account of the higher price of raw cotton the rate of dividend may be reduced. The rates of dividend of the spinning companies quoted for the present period are estimated as follow

The glazed bay, so very fashionable a

"PETTICOAT OF UNDELSHIRT?

Two causes have led to the reappearanes the petticoat, no ager by any mean tempestuous. One of these is the chill in the air appropriate to the season." The other is the prevalence of semi- Transparent" materials for gowns, which would be quite impossible without a petticoat or underskirt.
