Having been called upon by

you for a statement explaining the circumstances which compelled

me to

resign

the situation as Interpreter,

to the Police Court and

Superintendent of

my

1847, and

Assistant

Police in November

subsequently taking

the benefit of the Insolvent Act, I

beg

to state that in

September 1845,

I was appointed Interpreter of the

Supreme Court in addition to appointment as Interpreter Police Court, the conjoint salary

being

12 per

Annum. These

situations I held until March 1846
