I am directed to transmit to you herewith, for the consideration of the L.C. of the Treasury, a despatch from Governor Bonham relative to an application from Mr. Hillier, the Chief Magistrate of Police at Hong Kong, for repayment of the amount incurred by him in the defence of an action brought against him by a Portuguese subject for false imprisonment.
