the Church which has been built in that Island at the
expense of Government is called St. John's
Church.
The question
arises whether St. John's Church be the proposed Cathedral, and, if so, whether that would be a
sufficient designation.

We have the honor to report to you
for the information and consideration of His Excellency the Governor,
That at the last meeting of the
Trustees of Saint John's Church, held on the
9th Instant, the enclosed statement was
officially submitted to us by the Surveyor General, from which it appears that the Funds at his disposal in the Colonial Treasury are not sufficient for the completion of the Building, and that a sum of £1041-17-4
is
required to carry out the original plan of the Building, in addition to the grant of H. M. Govt. of £800, and the sum
of £2,301
raised by subscription, amounting together to
£3,101
