ONE 18.
Sir,
Anvveger General's Office, Victoria, 23rd May, 1848.
18/18.
I have the honor to forward herewith the Plans, Elevations and Sections of a design for the proposed Government House, and I beg you will have the kindness to submit the same for the consideration of His Excellency The Governor. I have not had sufficient time to complete a Report and Estimate to accompany the Plans, or finish plans for the servants' offices and stables; this however shall be done in time for transmission to England by the next Mail.
Co Colonial Secretary.
It is, I believe, understood that the Colonial Revenue defrays the expense of its public works; the erection of Govt House having been sanctioned, it remains now to refer this design and the plans, when they come, to the Treasury in order that sanction may be taken place in the design.
