My predecessor in his Despatch

No 40 of the 13th March last, proposed

to

Your Lordship that in future all Public Works - should be executed by the Surveyor General,

and I now have the honor to enclose-

A

Plan

and Approximate Estimate for a Government House which have been prepared in that Department

by Mr. Cleverly, the Surveyor General. The Plan

seems well calculated for the purpose, and

appears

to offer

conveniences and comforts both suitable and essential. The more complete Estimate enumerating

the necessary details, and entering into all particulars connected with this service, will be forwarded by the next mail.
