Two Soldiers of the Royal Sappers
and Miners having been sentenced by a Court Martial to transportation
for
Seven
years
each, have in conformity with the Articles
of
War been handed over to the Civil power,
for the purpose of having the sentence carried into execution; but by Despatch N. 81 of the 15th February 1845, from Lord Stanley, and N. 7 of the 31st July, 1846, from your Lordship, I am precluded from sending felons to New South Wales, and
therefore beg your Lordship's instructions for the final disposal of the Convicts in question.
