The Headmaster (Mr. G. Piercy) hav ing read his annual report,

The Bisor OF VICTORIA asked His Excelleney to kindly address the students and to give away the prizes.

H.E. THE GOVERNOR said-All those who are interested in this School must have listened with a great deal of satisfaction to the report which the Headingster has just read and to the references be made of the excellent report made by the acting- Director of Education upon this School in June last. The record is one of which the School, especially those who are in charge of the teaching therein, must feel justly proud. It is a very satisfactory report also from my point of view as I stand here, because it is so good that it leaves me very little comment to make, and, as you know, there is nothing I hate more than public speaking. (Laughter.) There is only one little bit of advice that I may perhaps tender, and it is that in the success you have wou you have bad a certain advantage over other Schools in the Colony in that you possess a larger These proportion of European boys.

It occurs to me that in a School like this, which no doubt claims to be a Secondary School-although we have 'no such class of School really defined in the Colony-there should be demanded at least she deal language and one modern living language.
