I have the honor to acknowledge

the receipt of Your Lordship's Despatch N° 3 of the 19th January last, conveying Your Lordship's observations and instructions

on an Ordinance that had been submitted by my Predecessor for His Majesty's confirmation, the Ordinance being entitled, "An Ordinance for extending the summary jurisdiction of Police Magistrates and Justices of the Peace within the Colony of Hongkong."
