SILK CULTURE IN THE PHILIPPINES.
Mr. W. A. V. Wiren who has been in charge of the Batac silk farm of the Bureau of Education in Ilocos Norto for the last four years, has resigned from the Bureau of Education to take over his private interests on the Dungon planta- tion where he intends to promote silk Mr. eo culture on a commercial basis. 85 Wiren, says the Manila Times, is the fore- 85,02 most authority on silk culture in the 2384 Philippines, having studied the work in 161, 16 Japan, and experimented with the Ceylon 13 silk worm in the Philippines for the last
