POLITICAL.
The safe return to France last Tuesday evening of Premier Poincaré from Russia, on board the cruiser Conde, was made the object of an enthusiastic and herty welcome. The first to stop on
sird the following morning W46 Stecg, the French Minister of the Interior, who, in the mune of tho Government, and of Franer in general, congratulated M. Poincaré on his success- ful mission. As the two Ministers came down the gangway and made their way to the Dunkirk town-hall they received a very hearty reception from the large erowd, M. Poinenré at the end of the Municipal luncheon dealt briefly with his mission, and assured all present that France, Russia and Great Britain were never more solidly united than they were at the present moment; The harmony existing between these three friendly Powers wins something to be proud of, the more as it was the means of preserving Bniversal peace. M. Poincaré showed] great diplomatic tact by not disclosing Anneh he outlined the situation sufficiently to ease the minds of his coun- Arymen, of all interested, without making Putsiders as wise as he was himself.
