"With reference to Your Lordship's Despatch No 28 of 30th September, 1846, sanctioning the expenditure on account of the road between Aberdeen and Stanley, which completes the circuit of the island, I have the honor to transmit a detailed Report and Estimate, from which it will appear that the actual expenditure on the work will be only £2705.14.4, instead of £4906.14.1, the amount at first contemplated.
