Messrs Phillips & Co. as the Agents
of Messrs. R. Oswald and
J. White have handed
us letters received from the Colonial Treasurer
requesting payment of rent for various allotments of land in Victoria, and amongst them of Inland Lots No. 155, 156, 157, and 158.
In August last, two actions were commenced in the Supreme Court against Mr. Oswald to recover the rent then due for lots Nos. 155 and 158, and two against Mr. White to recover the rent then due for lots Nos. 156 and 157,
when, after some negotiation between us on the part of Messrs. Oswald & White, and Mr. Parker the Attorney for the Government, it was agreed that Messrs Oswald & White should pay the amounts claimed and the costs of the actions, and then that the Government would resume the above 4 allotments.
