There was a steady demand for the Refinery's sugar throughout the year, and in consequence of the general improve ment which took place everywhere during the summer, remunerative prices were obtained from the month of July onwards. The gain on working was $94,370.84, and after allowing for interest, commission, and other charges the balance at debit carried forward has been reduced to $68,600.07.
The exchange on liquid assets remains at par.
