has been much impaired by an illness incurred by duty between Victoria and Check chu - Mavitty is a
strong
and active man and I consider
him now quite
if removed from East Point able to perform his duties.-

I have the honor to bring to your notice,
in order to be submitted to His Excellency The Governor the case
of the widow of the late Police Constable J. Monaghan who died
the 6th Instant after
a service of two years and nine months in the Police
having previously served four years
in the army, in both of which services his conduct
was very good.
The widow (who is without family) is sister to the wife of acting serjeant Hussey
and being a native of India is desirous of going to Madras with her relatives, but
has no means
of paying for her passage.
